Christmas Is In The Air
A Sunday Reflection by Fr. Marshall

Already before All Saints' Day, we began to "feel" Christmas in the air ‐ with Carol practices, buying of cards, deciding what presents to buy, etc, etc, etc. Many of you will contribute generously to the various causes, charities, etc. These will help to make Christmas MORE meaningful but what about YOU as an individual / family / group reaching out "hands on" to someone / family / group?

Your Christmas becomes much more alive! Try it and see.. God Bless.

Parish Assembly 2008
(1 Nov) - The Parish Assembly for 2008 will be held in the Parish Hall on Sat, 15 Nov from 9am - 12pm. All parishioners are welcome to attend this session which will address pastoral needs and actions to be undertaken in 2009. Your participation and suggestions would be most helpful. A copy of the Parish Report for 2008 will be distributed in time for the Assembly. Back to Top

Talk: Teen Sexuality

Bible Formation Session
(1 Nov) - The next Bible Formation Session with Fr. Mark will be held in the Church on Fri, 21 Nov at 8pm. All are welcome, even if you missed the first session. Please bring along your Bible. Back to Top

SPM Bible Knowledge Teacher's Course (Stay-In)
(1 Nov) - This course is specially designed to cater for would-be teachers, parents and church leaders who wish to follow course in the teaching of Bible Knowledge to Form 4 and Form 5 students in respective parishes. It will be held at Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre from 26 - 30 Nov, cost RM 300 per participant. Closing date Mon, 10 Nov. For further details kindly refer to Notice Board. Back to Top

Infant Baptisms
The last Infant Baptisms for this year will take place on Sun, 30 Nov at 5:00pm. Parents and godparents are required to attend the briefing for infant baptisms on Sat, 29 Nov at 7:45pm, Parish House. Registration forms available at Parish Office. Back to Top

PHDC's Outreach To Sunshine Cottage, Kulim
(9 Nov) - The PHDC is organizing an outreach to Sunshine Cottage, Kulim ‐ home to some 60 aged and handicapped children, on Sun, 30 Nov. The home is in dire need of financial support, and specific food items requested by them are rice, powdered milk, Milo and tea… a very sad human reality but which helps to make our mission very clear. IC Bright Sparks Learning Centre
(1 Nov) - The PHDC is introducing a learning centre, to be located at the IC Conference Room, for needy primary school children. Target start-up date is Sat, 6 Dec, operating every Sat from 9:00am - 11:00am. Parents who are interested to register their children, please contact Margaret Chin (016 4812 613) or Linda Sivapatham (013 4360 213) for further details. Inner Healing Mass & Retreat
(1 Nov) - The recently held Inner Healing Mass & Retreat witnessed a lot of healing and reconciliation spiritually, physically and emotionally. All thanks to those who have helped out during the two days Healing Mass and retreat. Back to Top

"Bible & Me" Booklet
(1 Nov) - The Bible & Me Booklet was specifically composed and printed to help parishioners better understand the Word of God and to pray/share the Word more effectively. It is given free of charge on a scale of one per family. If you need extra copy please let the Parish Clerk know, when you collect from the Office. Back to Top

Eulogy At Funeral Liturgies / Services
(25 Oct) - At the 82nd Plenary Meeting of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei where it was decided that eulogy is strictly prohibited during the Liturgy of the Funeral Mass. They have decided that the eulogy will be delivered in the church either before mass or after the dismissal by one individual only and not exceeding 5 mins. The text will be vetted by the Parish Priest. Back to Top

MINISTRY ALERT: Children's Liturgy of the Word
(03 Oct) - Are you keen to share the word of the Lord with our children? Every fortnightly, the word of the Lord and the homily is passed on to the children at their level.   The Children’s Liturgy of the Word Ministry (CLOW) invites volunteers to journey together with our children.  Training is provided.  Contact Mabel (017-4781331) or Kathleen (016-4164169). PLEASE HELP: Pilgrimage to Lourdes
The postponed PILGRIMAGE to Lourdes, FOR THE SICK, will take place in May 2009. We are in DIRE need of DONATIONS/CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • PRAYERS of Intercession.
  • Volunteers - strong enough to accompany the sick.
  • CASH - loads of cash as not many of the sick/handicapped can pay their own way. If you don’t have 
    enough ringgit, donate Euros, US$ or even S’pore $.
