Parish Ministries - Outreach & Evangelisation
Outreach involves social responsibility and community action, reaching out and making a difference in small or big ways, in the lives of the poor and needy, the disadvantaged and migrants. Evangelisation is bringing the Good News of Christ to those who are, or may be open to receive it.

PHDC   SSVP

The Parish Human Development Committee is an umbrella body responsible for activities and programmes to promote charity, integral human development, justice and peace, in line with the social justice teachings of the Church. Various ministries and activities come under its purview, such as the Super Seniorz, Migrant Ministry, the Lenten Campaign and many more.

Suitability – Anyone who is willing to serve in any way he is equipped to, to further the social  justice teachings of the Church. Those who are adept at organising events, people skills, charity issues and public appearance are sorely needed!

The parish conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul aims to provide aid to the poor within its boundaries. This may take various forms, such as food rations, cash, grants, educational assistance and school bus fares. To ensure such providence, the SSVP organises fundraisers and activities from time to time.

Suitability – Anyone, youth or adult, are welcome to be a part of this ministry of Christian giving. If you have a particularly enterprising mind, and are good at finding ways to ensure money spent goes a long way, or to raise funds, you are just the person we are looking for!

RCIA   Migrant Ministry (under PHDC)

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is an induction programme for those interested in the Catholic faith. Candidates undergo a year-long programme, culminating with baptism at Easter. During this time they learn about the faith and discern their decision to enter the Catholic Church.

Suitability
The programme needs formators well-versed in theology and adult catechesis to conduct sessions and answer questions from candidates, as well as sponsors to provide personal guidance as candidates journey towards the Catholic faith.

The Migrant Ministry aims to reach out to all migrant brothers and sisters, to create a more welcoming and homely community for them, a home away from home. We also strive to make them a more visible part of our parish life, with involvement in ministries and events.

Suitability – Anyone, but especially migrants are welcome to play a part in this ministry. Ability to reach out to those who speak a different language is a plus.
